About the festival

The OnderwijsFestival is the stage for teachers, students, and all other UU staff. They come together on this day to share information and exchange ideas about the quality and developments in education, but above all to meet each other, relax and get inspired.

Every year, there are a few set items on the programme. Attention is paid to teachers and other staff who are doing research on their own teaching (Scholarship of Teaching and Learning, SoTL), and who want to share their (research-informed) plans, progress and results. Also, at the OnderwijsFestival, the winners of the annual Teacher Awards and the UU Team Prize are announced.

The OnderwijsFestival is organised by the Centre for Academic Teaching and Learning (CAT). The CAT, together with its partners and a programme committee, which changes every year, fills the programme of the day.

In 2024, the committee consisted of Daniela Salvatori (chair), Renske Bouwer, Tom Frijns, Mariëlle Jambroes, Nienke Luijckx, Tom van Munster, Sebastiaan Steenman and Inge Thé. On behalf of the CAT, Esther Verheijen and Nanette Verhulst were part of the committee.
